Andrew Cooper Part of the Oarsome Foursome that thrilled Australia at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, Andrew Cooper was one of the finest rowers this country has produced. Multiple world champion in eights and the fours, a Commonwealth Games gold medallist in Edinburgh in 1986, Coop’ had the nation spellbound at the on Lake Banyoles as he joined James Tomkins, Mike McKay and Nick Green to take Olympic Gold.

Retiring after the World Championships in 1995, Cooper would take his talents to South Rd and become one of the boys again, playing footy with Old Brighton. Such was the regard he was held in, the Oarsome Foursome won gold in Atlanta in a boat named – the “Andrew Cooper”.
