Travis Brooks

The Kookaburras, as Australia’s men’s hockey team are known, had won a cupboard full of Olympic silver and bronze medals over the 40 years preceding Athens in 2004. It would be Travis Brooks who set them on the road to victory with this brilliant goal against the Dutch.

In his first Olympics he would play a critical role in Australia’s breakthrough win in sudden death overtime. In the years since he has won gold at the Champions trophy and at the Commonwealth Games and in Beijing added an Olympic bronze to his haul.
