He has been fortunate to accompany tours of Senior School boys to New Guinea, Nepal, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He spent almost thirty years serving in the BGS Cadet Unit and assisting at Frankston Camp.

Rick is currently in his twelfth year as Deputy Head of the Junior School and this year helped to welcome in Peter Toms’ successor, Peter Tellefson.

During his time at BGS, Rick has seen the original Wilson House classroom block built and demolished and the facilities and area that the Junior School property encompasses expand greatly.

In his 38 years on Committee, Rick has only worked with two Presidents who have been younger than him, so he now looks forward to the younger generations of Old Boys taking a more active role in leading the Society through the next decade.
