The #1 Punter for the Dallas Cowboys visits BGS

Our boys in Rosstrevor were delighted to have the #1 Punter for the Dallas Cowboys, Mat McBriar, speak at assembly today recalling his time at Brighton Grammar School and his life since.

Mat enthralled the boys with his sporting journey since leaving BGS. During his address, he also emphasised the message never to give up stressing that he was ‘thrown on the punting scrapheap’ before being picked up by the Dallas Cowboys in 2004.

Mat was the Captain of Rosstrevor in 1993 and comes from a long line of the McBriar clan who have attended BGS - Mat’s father, brother and three uncles are all BGS Old Boys. The family connection is still alive and well through his cousin, Andrew James (8D), pictured below!
