Is that a swimming pool being installed on the Mitchell Oval?

No, it's not a swimming pool, it's actually our mammoth 1.5 megalitre watertank currently being installed underneath the Mitchell Oval surface!
As the photo shows, the laying of the watertank's membrane is well underway. Within the next couple of weeks, huge arches will be installed over the top before the whole area is back filled with crushed rock and soil in preparation for the laying of the artificial surface. Judging by the progress made this week, it won't be too long before our boys will be playing on their new first class sports and leisure facility.
Once an extensive array of pipes and pumps is installed to harvest water from Rosstrevor and Senior School buildings, the water collected will be used on the Crowther Oval reducing our reliance on town water from 12.5 megalitres to 6 megalitres.
Parents will have received information on how they can assist us to reach our fundraising target of $1 million dollars for the Mitchell Oval campaign. If you have not already contributed to this project, we encourage you to do so by returning the pledge form or by ringing the Development Office on 8591 2271.
