WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of parents and teachers who are committed to providing a nurturing environment that recognizes and caters for the different needs of students.
Our meetings are informal and friendly; we provide a locally recognized support program for the School’s musicians across all years of schooling.
WHAT ARE OUR AIMS?
- To raise the profile of music within Brighton Grammar School and the wider community.
- To enrich the musical life of the boys at Brighton Grammar School.
- To provide an opportunity for parents to participate in the diverse musical life of the school.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Music occupies a central place in cultural life of the School, with over 60% of the School’s student population actively participating in music activities ranging from Choirs, Orchestras and Concert Bands to the Year 2/3 String Ensembles — in total over 25 Ensembles. Boys are encouraged and supported in furthering their formal education and training in music, with the provision of private tuition in a wide range of musical instruments and voice; preparation for AMEB examinations; and studying Music as a VCE subject up to and including Year 12.
