At Brighton Grammar School we teach boys. Our goal is to teach them in a way in which they are fully engaged and excited by their education on a daily basis. Our School is a busy place - there is not a week in the year without something novel or new or important taking place.
Education in the twenty first century is no longer simply about learning content and preparing for the VCE exams, it is about giving our boys the skills and developing the qualities needed to equip them for a lifetime of learning - resilience, research skills, tenacity, flexibility, courage, curiosity, discernment.
At Brighton Grammar every staff member has responsibility to develop and inspire our boys and the right to be developed and inspired themselves. This is achieved through a comprehensive and well resourced professional development program which ensures staff have full access and a thorough knowledge of the latest educational research and classroom practice. Naturally the beneficiaries of this strategic priority are the boys in our School.
Brighton Grammar School is a community where boys, staff and parents work together. The size of the school allows us to provide a healthy range of options for boys, but also ensures that boys feel part of the place.
On this web-site you will begin to get a taste for our School and how we meet the unique learning needs of boys - however, it can best be understood by visiting the School, talking with us, and seeing the boys in action!
Our clear focus is on how boys learn. We tap into what excites boys in the classroom, on the stage, and on the sporting field. As an Anglican school we hold true to Christian principles where all members of the community are valued.
Our focus is on boys' all-round development. We have a strong tradition of academic excellence, but also recognise that there are many ways that boys can enjoy success. We want boys to develop academically, socially, physically, spiritually and aesthetically, and we provide many opportunities for this to take place.
No matter what your reason for coming to the site, I hope you find it useful. However, if you don't get your questions answered, please phone us at your convenience or contact our Director of Admissions, John Arrowsmith.
