Year 9 Curriculum

As well as undertaking the BGS Sea Change program, all boys in Year 9 will study a core program of:

• English (or ESL)
• Mathematics
• Science
• History
• Geography
• Health and Physical Education
• LOTE (French or Japanese or Latin or English Language)
• Religious Education

Boys choose from a range of learning options including:

• Drama
• Visual Communication and Design
• Woodcraft
• Art
• Music
• Commerce
• Politics
• Robotics

Please note: ICT is integrated across the curriculum

As well as these subjects boys in Year 9 engage in a range of associated learning experiences including:

• Compulsory interschool Saturday sports competition
• Duke of Edinburgh Awards
• St John Ambulance
• Cadets
• School drama productions
• Debating
• Public Speaking
• Chess
• Outdoor education
• Music – membership of choirs, bands and orchestras
• Community Service
