Leadership

In the Junior School we believe every boy has the potential to be a leader and so developing leadership skills is inherent in the way we do things.

One example is the very successful buddy system which involves every boy in the Junior School including the ELC. We know boys love heroes and so it is great for our youngest boys to be able to look up to the older boys; at the same time, the older boys love the opportunity to be caring and nurture their younger buddies - a form of leadership through service.

Undertaking the role of tour guide on Open Mornings and Transition Days is another leadership opportunity open to boys in Years 5 and 6.

More obvious examples of leadership come with roles such a Class Captains and Monitors for all manner of things such as Library, Sport, Music and Science & Technology. In Year 6 one boy is appointed Captain of Junior School who is supported by Vice-Captains and School Officers.
