OBGS Cricket Club
The Cricket Team found a new home in the MCC Club XI competition for season 2004-2005. The competition consists of predominently APS teams who play a mixture of turf pitches. A 'flexible fixture policy' exists, unique to this competition allowing the team to attend other attractions such as Derby Day during the Spring Racing Carnival - a pleasant change for many cricketers usually forced to miss these important social events.
The Old Boys team recently played a 20/20 match against the School XI and recorded a narrow win. The following evening the traditional Trivia Night was held in Rosstrevor Hall with 70 people in attendance ensuring a very successful event.
The home ground is Spring Street Oval off Bluff Road and the players gather at Hotel Brighton after most games to re-live the day's performance. The Club is participating in the finals and has a good chance of taking off the Premiership in its first year.
