OBGS Basketball
The Old Brighton Basketball Club was established in April of 2003 and has been going strong ever since. Many fun and successful times have been had over years past and we look forward to future opportunities. The Club is entered in the domestic competition run by the Southern Basketball Association, located at the Tulip Street Recreation Centre in Sandringham.
The summer competition begins in mid October and runs until late February and the winter season begins in early March ending in late September. At present, games are played once a week on a Wednesday evening. Training is held on a Sunday night at 6.30pm at the Junior School gymnasium in New Street, Brighton.
At present the team is placed fifth out of fifteen on the ladder, however, to reach the finals the team must be in the top four. Over the past month the team has lifted its form superbly and had many triumphs as a result. With the end of the winter season approaching and the possibility of a chance in the finals, the team aims to maintain and improve upon its form and is hungry for success.
The Club is looking for people to help out with numbers at training on a Sunday evening. Training involves a half court game, or full court depending on numbers. It is a relaxed and casual atmosphere and requires no funding or registration - just turn up and play!
