Getting involved
There are many opportunities for our boys' parents to be involved in School life.
Rosstrevor and Senior Parents' Group
For parents of boys in Years 7-12, the Rosstrevor and Senior Parents' Group has a focus on socialising and fundraising. The Group strongly supports the activities of the School, such as Open Days and the annual Valedictory Day.
Junior Parents' Group
The Junior Parents Group plays a pivotal role in the life of the Junior School. The Group fulfils dual roles in supporting the activities of the Junior School as well as undertaking fundraising to fund special purchases for the School. All parents with boys in the Junior School are welcome to be involved.
International Parents' Support Group
The aim of the International Parents' Support Group is to welcome international parents of Brighton Grammar School boys upon their arrival in Australia. The Group helps to facilitate their assimilation into the community and the School. The Group seeks to establish strong relationships with the students and their families that can be maintained even after they return to their homelands.
The Group includes more than 70 mothers from different countries all over the world. For further information, please call Maggie Lynch on 9592 9394.

Friends of Music
The aim of Friends of Music is to support and raise the profile of the Music program in the School. The parents work closely with the music staff and get involved at various levels. Parents with boys undertaking music are invited to join. Please contact the Music School by phoning 8591 2258. Click here to go to the Friends of Music webpage
The Boaterie
The Boaterie provides support in a variety of ways to rowing activities within the School. The Group provides a focus for parents, past rowers and other Brighton Grammar people at regattas and rowing functions.
Second Hand Uniform Shop
The Senior Parents' Group manages the second hand uniform shop, which is the major source of fundraising for the group. All parents are welcome to buy from or sell to the Second Hand Uniform Shop. Volunteers to help with the shop are always welcome.
Major Events Committee
Each year the Major Events Committee puts on one special event. In 2012, for instance, the committee staged the BGS Circus Spectacular Event.
To find out about joining the committee, please ring 8591 2270.
Dalziel Club (Friends of Football)
A football parents and supporters’ group was established in 2007, and soon took on the name of the Dalziel Club, named after Mr. Danny Dalziel. Danny was our 1st XVIII coach for many seasons at the school and coached our first APS Premiership in 1975.
The Dalziel Club aims to not only assist in developing football at the school, but also provides parents, supporters and Old Boys the chance to socialise during the season.
To become a member of the Dalziel Club (a 'one-off' fee provides membership for life) please contact our President, Richard Simon or Andrew Biggin at the Old Brighton Grammarians’ Society 8591 2272.
Friends of Cricket
The Brighton Grammar School cricket community announced the launch of BGS Friends of Cricket in 2007. The purpose of this group is to preserve and foster the spirit of cricket, as well as offer some financial support that ensures students are provided with the best possible cricket facilities and coaching opportunities. Members include interested BGS Cricketers, Old Boys, current and past parents and other supporters of the game. Friends of Cricket provides an informal setting for members to interact and network through a common love of cricket and shared affection for BGS.
Throughout the year, the Group hosts various match-day functions, special matches, team reunions and one major annual special event. In addition, members receive an electronic BGS Friends of Cricket newsletter and other communications.
Membership is easy, with a one-off family life membership of $100.
