Boys swim PBs at Nationals

In April, six BGS boys travelled to Brisbane to compete at the 2017 Georgina Hope Foundation Australian Age Championships. Swimming captain Julian Wilson (Year 12), Harrison Preston (Year 10), Ewan Smith, Billy Pearson, Lachie Jackett-Simpson, and Charlie Lamont (all Year 9) all competed at the Australian Age Championships.

There were some stand-out performances and numerous personal bests were achieved, including:

  • Julian finished 9th in the 100m freestyle. His 4x100m medley relay also finished 1st.
  • Harry finished 9th in the 200m breaststroke with an amazing swim.
  • Ewan also competed in the individual 200m backstroke and finished 19th
  • Billy, Ewan, Lachie, and Charlie smashed their entry times in both the medley relay and freestyle relay, finishing 11th overall in Australia.

All competitors showed true BGS spirit and swam their absolute best.
