Big Fella Camp Reflections 2

A reflection from Connor Marriott

As we quickly approach the start of the new school year, I greatly encourage all boys to hit the ground running from the start of this term. I have learnt over my school journey that it is vital to make a positive start to the year, as it will not only prevent you from falling behind, but will further motivate you to keep pushing through the year, and the results will then look after themselves.

One of the things I love about BGS is the diversity of activities the School offers to all the boys, from music, to sport, to drama and woodcraft. There is something for everyone at BGS and I encourage every boy to find what that something is and jump in and get involved.

Going into Year 12 this year I am both excited and hopeful for the year ahead. I know that it will be the hardest year yet of my schooling life, but also know that it will be the most rewarding. Although at times it may be tough, we must remind ourselves to keep our heads down and grit our teeth, as this is the last year of our BGS life and should be cherished.

I thoroughly enjoyed Big Fella where boys across the year level went through many sessions discussing the year ahead and completed our big hike up Mt Bogong together. I also look forward to many other events throughout the year like the formal and valedictory day, and the many other privileges around the School which are exclusive to only Year 12.

Here’s to a great year to come!
