Healthy plates

Create a healthy meal that’s balanced and delicious

  1. Using the Food Pyramid below, create a meal (Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner) on a drawn plate using pictures and labels
  2. Prepare the meal in the kitchen (with parental supervision)
  3. Enjoy the meal together and talk about the balance of the meal referring to proteins, carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables and fats (good and bad)

Extension: discuss sugar and salt content and what substitutions you could make to reduce the sugar or salt content of the meal.
