Using just some simple household ingredients you can make your own rock crystals.

Using just sugar, water and food dye, set up a sugar solution and place a piece of string (tied to a pencil) into this solution for a week and make some Rock Candy crystals.

 As you are setting this up and waiting for the crystals to form, think about the following principles; solutes, solvents, viscosity, sedimentation, solutions, and supersaturated solutions, and where they apply in this experiment.
