How do you get to Carnegie Hall?

On July 3, Isaac Lee (Year 6) was invited to perform Boccherini’s Concerto in G major (First movement) in the Winners Recital of the American Protégé International Concerto Competition 2016  at Carnegie Hall, New York City.

He was an Honorable Mention Winner (12 and under Age Category) of the competition being selected from a large field of competitive applicants to perform.

This was Isaac’s debut overseas performance, and what a venue to do it.   Isaac was noted as being able to stylistically, musically and technically perfect the Boccherini’s concerto with lyric beauty in musical phrases, performed with passion and demonstrated his creativity with his self-composed cadenza.  Well done Isaac!

It was serendipitous that Jared Furtado, Junior School Music coordinator and Head of Choral happened to be in New York on a study tour and was delighted to be in the audience at Carnegie Hall.
