Hallelujah! House Choral is back!

It’s been over twenty years but the House Choral Competition was back last term! This student-led initiative (rehearsals are arranged by students and each House choir is conducted by student leaders) promotes music through the House system. Each of the House choirs sang the School hymn, ‘Fight the Good Fight’, as well as a piece of choice – this year, these ranged from pieces by Bastille and INXS to The Beetles. On hand to judge were stars of stage and screen Lisa McCune and Rob Mills. Well done to Rofe House, who won with Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’. Cameron Berry (Year 12) took out the House Spirit Award and Felix Gong (Year 12) won the Most Promising Conductor! Thanks to the fantastic Friends of Music for donating the prizes. Given the enthusiasm on display, it won’t be another 20 years until the next event.
