Ted, from Ted’s Camera Store shares his story of migration

The Year 6 boys study of migration came to life today with the visit of Ted Todd, founder of Ted’s Camera store.

Ted, a masterful story teller, wove humour and drama into his account of growing up in war torn Hungry and his family’s journey to Australia via refugee camps in Austria when he was 15. 

Ted, was invited to BGS by Year 6 boy Henry Williams, who chose Ted as the subject of his research project on migration (and who happens to live next door!)  

Ted also shared stories about life on the ship, various jobs he had over the years and then how he started the camera store. Many were surprised to learn he actually sold that business in the late 80s.
