From the Head of Crowther Centre – Dr Ray Swann

Thank you

As the term and semester come to a close, I would like to extend my thanks to the many parents who came to our Crowther workshops, to our dedicated teaching staff and to the boys for such enthusiasm toward their learning.

Further, we extend our thanks to Professor Dianne Vella-Broderick for working with the Year 10 boys on the co-design piece during her sabbatical, to Tom Harkin for his work on the Tomorrow Man series and to Dr Simon Rice for the preliminary work we have completed in the Positive Masculinity framework.

We thank the volunteers that work with the school as well as the leadership of Council. Finally, we thank Headmaster Ross Featherston for his clear guidance and leadership, which the Crowther Centre benefits from.

Over the break, I extend to you every best wish for some family time, renewal and reflection. We look forward to again working with the boys, parents and teachers in Semester 2, when we will have a particular focus on: Learning Processes: Knowing How to Learn.

Start with Why

Our teaching staff spend considerable time and effort working out the ‘why’ of their programs. In our role as parents, it’s helpful for us to understand the aims of each program and the benefits these offer to the boys, so that we can support our sons in all areas of their learning.
