Will Pucovski makes his first-class cricket debut at just 18
Will Pucovski (OB 2015) made his first-class debut scoring a composed 28 against NSW at the MCG on Wednesday. He batted 5th for the Bushrangers following a couple of months of great results.
Two months ago, he dominated the national under 19 championships, notching four centuries and averaging 162.50. He added two more Premier cricket tons immediately, prompting this week’s Victorian call-up.
Will was also regarded as the stand out performer at an exhibition T20 for the Gilchrist XII against the Ricky Ponting XII at the SCG in late December.
Bushranger’s top scorer from yesterday Travis Dean had this to say about Will: “He has been making runs for fun (in grade cricket) so I told him to stick to the method he has been using, and just soak it all up and enjoy it, and he batted well I thought.”
