Joining BGS in ELC3, Charlie embraced leadership opportunities early, serving as Captain of the Junior School in Year 6 and Captain of School in Year 12. He was Dux of Years 7–11 and received Full Colours – Academic from Years 7–12. In Year 10, Charlie was accepted into the Monash Scholars and The University of Melbourne Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Programs. That year, he earned Full Colours – Debating and Public Speaking and received prizes for Unit 1/2 Applied Computing, Algorithmics and Emerging Technologies, English, and Latin. In Year 11, Charlie was awarded The Unit 3/4 Algorithmics (HESS) Prize, Unit 1/2 Latin Prize, Unit 1/2 Literature Prize, Senior Choral Friends of Music Prize, and the Year 10–12 Production Prize. In his final year he was presented with Full Colours for Hockey, Music, Squash (as Co-Captain), and Production, along with Full House Colours for Hancock House. Charlie was a dedicated member of annual productions and The Ten Tonners choral group. He concluded his schooling with The Class of 2012 Robert Connor Dawes Prize for Latin 3/4, The Robert Claude James Prize for Literature, The RW Tovell Memorial Prize for Specialist Mathematics 3/4, The Selwyn Noall Memorial Rhodes Prize, and The OBGS Prize for Captain of the School.

As a new Year 8 student, Patrick quickly made his mark academically, by being awarded numerous Distinction and Merit Certificates and Half Colours – Academic. He was a member of the F1 in Schools team at the national finals and received Full Colours – F1 in Schools the following year. Patrick was awarded Half Colours – Academic again in Year 9. Patrick’s academic progress continued in Year 10 when he was awarded Full Colours – Academic, The Literature Prize and placed Third in the year level. Patrick received The Unit 1/2 Chemistry Prize and The Unit 1/2 Physics Prize in Year 11 and placed Second in the year level. He was awarded Full Colours – Academic in both Year 11 and Year 12. In his final year, Patrick was awarded The Norman F Perrier Memorial Prize for Chemistry 3/4. He received Full House Colours for his contributions to Rofe House and the Most Valuable Player award for the Fifth Tennis team.

Thomas embraced all academic opportunities at BGS from his commencement in Year 4. He was awarded a Meliora Prize for Academic Excellence in Years 4 – 6 and was Dux of the Junior School in Year 6. He placed Fourth in Year 7, receiving The Mathematics Prize and The Woodcraft Prize and Half Colours – Academic, and placed Second in Year 8, receiving The Mathematics Prize and The Latin Prize and Half Colours – Academic. In Year 9, Thomas was awarded Full Colours – Academic, receiving The History Prize, The Digital Technologies Prize and The Mathematics Prize, placing Second in the year level. He subsequently received Full Colours – Academic from Years 10 to 12 and was invited to the Monash Scholars Program in Year 10. Thomas placed Second in Year 10 and Third in Year 11, receiving The Unit 1/2 Mathematical Methods Prize, The Chemistry Prize, The Physics Prize, The Robert Asche Prize for Software Development and The Science Prize (Year 10) and The RW Tovell Memorial Prize for Mathematical Methods 3/4 and The Unit 1/2 Specialist Mathematics Prize (Year 11). In his final year, Thomas was awarded Full Colours – Debating and Full House Colours for his service to Hancock House. Thomas received the Coach’s Award for the U15 and U16 Swimming teams.

Jackson was a Junior School student from Year 3 to Year 6 at BGS. He had an impressive academic career in the junior years, showing aptitude for Mathematics, Art and Debating. His commitment to his studies and steady achievement were rewarded with The Meliora Prize for Academic Excellence in Year 6. Jackson rejoined BGS in Year 11 for his final years of schooling. His strength and ability in Mathematics proved to be consistent throughout the years and he was presented with The RW Tovell Memorial Prize for General Mathematics 3/4 and Half Colours – Academic in Year 12.

Commencing at BGS in Year 6, James took full advantage of the opportunities on offer. Along with numerous Distinction and Merit Certificates along the way, James received an Academic Endeavour Award and The English as an Additional Language Prize in both Year 7 and Year 8. The following year in Year 9, James was awarded Half colours – Academic, The Chinese Advanced Prize, The Geography Prize and a Distinction in the Australian Mathematics Competition. In Year 10, James again received Half Colours – Academic, followed by Full Colours – Academic in his final year. Badminton was James’s chosen sport and he was a member of the First Badminton team, receiving Half Colours – Badminton in Years 9, 10 and 11. For his services to Hancock House, especially his professional-quality photography at House and School events, James was awarded Full House Colours.

James began his schooling life at Brighton Grammar in Year 9. He excelled in Science, English, and History, earning numerous Distinction and Merit Certificates. In Years 11 and 12, James’s scholarly efforts were recognised with Half Colours – Academic. His strong academic commitment was highlighted in Year 11 when he was awarded The Unit 1/2 English Prize, and in his final year, when he received The Marie and Ivan Epstein Prize for Biology 3/4. Beyond academics, James was an enthusiastic athlete, playing Soccer and Hockey. He earned a Most Valuable Player award for Soccer in Year 10 and Full Colours – Hockey in Year 12. His leadership and service to Crowther House were acknowledged with Full House Colours.

Upon joining BGS in Year 8, Hiruja quickly distinguished himself as a dedicated and high-achieving student. He earned numerous Distinction and Merit Certificates across a range of subjects, and in Year 9, his aptitude for mathematics was recognised with a Distinction in the Australian Mathematics Competition. His strong academic performance continued into Year 10, where he was awarded Half Colours – Academic, The Geography Prize, and The Year 10 Progress Prize. In Year 11, Hiruja broadened his horizons by participating in the Outdoor Education Leadership Program, for which he received Half Colours – Outdoor Education Leadership Program. He also earned Half Colours – Academic once again. Outside the classroom, Hiruja engaged in Soccer and Badminton, highlighting his well-rounded approach to school life.

Joining BGS in Year 3, Lucas distinguished himself as a dedicated and high-achieving student, accumulating many Distinction and Merit Certificates during his schooling journey. His efforts were recognised with Half Colours – Academic in Years 7 and 8 and Full Colours – Academic each year from Years 9 to 12. In Year 10, Lucas was presented with The Unit 1/2 Biology Prize and placed Fourth in the year level. He showcased his sporting ability by receiving a Gold Medal in Rowing as a member of the Division 1 Year 10 Quad crew. Lucas again placed Fourth in Year 11. In his final year of schooling, Lucas was awarded The HV Mitchell Essay Prize and The Norman F Perrier Memorial Prize for Physics 3/4. He received Full House Colours – Melville House for his role as House Academic Leader, his enthusiastic contributions to House Debating, House Chess, House Choral Committee, and as winner of Beat the Buzzer.

Joining BGS in Year 7, Luke earned numerous Distinction and Merit Certificates for a range of subjects in his first few years of secondary schooling. In Year 9, he was awarded Half Colours – Academic and The Forensic Science Prize. He was again awarded Half Colours – Academic in Year 10 and The Psychology Prize. Luke received Full Colours – Academic in Years 11 and 12. He was the recipient of The Unit 1/2 Psychology Prize in Year 11 and received The Unit 3/4 Psychology Prize in Year 12. Luke was awarded Full House Colours for Melville House in Year 12. Rugby was Luke’s chosen sport, and he played a pivotal role in the APS premiership-winning First V Rugby team in Year 11, earning both Full Premiership Colours and Full Colours – Rugby. In his final year, Luke was Vice-Captain of Rugby and he was named Best Team Player for the First V Rugby team, receiving Full Colours – Rugby in recognition of his outstanding performance and commitment. He was also awarded Most Valuable Player – Touch Football Third.

Koju entered the school gates of BGS in Year 7. He immediately made his mark academically, earning numerous Distinction and Merit Certificates along the way. In Year 11, Koju’s scholarly efforts were rewarded with an Academic Endeavour Award, The Year 11 Progress Prize and The Unit 3/4 Japanese Prize. Beyond academics, Koju’s chosen sports were Soccer and Futsal. In his final year, he was awarded Full Colours – Futsal as a member of the First V Futsal team and was named Most Valuable Player for the Second XI Soccer team. Koju earned Full House Colours for his enthusiastic participation in Crowther House events, exemplifying his contribution to school life.
