Sandwiches for EatUp Australia

Boys lend a hand in a great social enterprise.

In February, 30 BGS students from Years 7-12 attended the first EatUp Australia program for the year, putting in a remarkable effort by making 1200 sandwiches for Australian children.

EatUp is an outstanding foundation which supports students at low socio-economic schools who suffer from not having any lunch, leading to a detrimental negative effect on their concentration.

However, because of this foundation, over 850,000 lunches have been provided to these children since 2013 which has positively impacted their mental state by boosting their attentiveness at school.

The BGS boys who attended astonishingly made 1200 sandwiches in just 49 minutes, reflecting on the culture of depicting great passion for this event.  The experience was brought with joviality and was cherished by the boys partaking, enjoying the afternoon by spreading butter on bread, adding a slice of cheese and endeavouring in the making of a delightful sandwich.

All the boys who committed to this should hold their heads up high, as they have now put a smile on the face of numerous Aussie students who are in desperate need of a lunch.
