Appearance Guidelines

Secondary School (7–12)

The School uniform is to be worn correctly and neatly at all times, including a tie and a tucked shirt
Students are to wear their blazer to and from school each day
Sport uniform may be worn all day only on days where students have a timetabled practical PE lesson
Students must get changed for before school, after school or lunchtime APS sport training and are not permitted to wear Sport or APS uniform to school before or after attending APS sport training
Jewellery, such as rings, bracelets and earrings should not be worn
Only official BGS hats and scarves are permitted
Boys are expected to wear School uniform to all School functions, including weekend events

Hot Weather

When wearing the academic uniform, a blazer and tie must be worn to school. Should the weather exceed 29 degrees, the Head of Secondary School may excuse students from wearing a blazer home, and in extreme temperatures, a tie.

Hair must be neat, clean and well-maintained at all times
Boys should always be clean-shaven
Hair must be reasonable length (e.g. short back and sides). Hair should not fall below the collar, or over eyes
Hair must be blended, without significant contrasts in lengths
No haircuts below blade 3
Hair must be natural in colour
No extreme haircuts/hairstyles
No use of hair ties or accessories
