iDesign Week!

At the start of term, the Year 8 boys showcased their impressive iDesign projects, which they had been developing since Term 1. This week was dedicated to presentations and selecting the winners over three consecutive days.

Congratulations to the overall winner, Xavier Bates and runner up, Ellis Cregan.

On Tuesday, each Year 8 Tutor Group had the opportunity to present and evaluate their peers’ projects based on specific criteria: Sustainability, Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship.

Wednesday marked the culmination of their hard work, as our top 16 finalists presented their projects to a Sharktank panel. Joining me on the panel were fellow judges Jayson Hornibrook, Anthony Podesta, and the 2023 iDesign winner, Monty Brougham.

On Thursday, we began with an open exhibition for the Junior School, followed by the People’s Choice event, where Year 7 students voted for their top three projects. The evening included parents, mentors, and community members, who eagerly engaged with our Year 8 boys. This interaction seamlessly transitioned into our presentation night, where we proudly announced the award winners.

The number of projects presented was truly impressive. Each of the three finalists exhibited unique qualities that set them apart, showcasing their keen observation, dedication, and innovative thinking. The meticulous attention to detail and depth of their work were remarkable.

Congratulations to the 2024 BGS iDesign winners and finalists.
