Sailing Championship
Our sailors represent AustraliaBGS Sailing represented Australia at the 2025 Interdominion Team Sailing Championship, hosted by Goolwa Regatta Sailing Club in Adelaide in September.
The best sailing schools from Australia and New Zealand compete for the Interdominion Trophy. Brighton Grammar was one of three Australian schools in the Open Division at this regatta, following a strong performance by our team at the National Championships held in July.
After three full days of sailing with great sportsmanship and skill shown by all teams, Australia was the outright winner, claiming the Interdominion Trophy from the combined results of the women’s and open divisions.
BGS Sailing was represented by Captain Dimitry Sorokin (Year 12), Jasper McKenna (Year 11), Sam Smith (Year 8), Lachie Dever (Year 9), Myles Burchall (Year 8), Eddie Wang (Year 8) and Xavier Spence (Year 8).
A special mention to Dimitry Sorokin, and his family, who represented BGS Sailing for the final time, after six seasons of enthusiasm and skillful sailing.
