Romeo + Juliet
Rising to the challengeOur second annual Year 9–11 Play took to the stage last week, playing to a full audience of supportive friends, families and community members.
This year’s production reimagined Romeo + Juliet in modern day Melbourne, tackling complex themes and rich language with maturity and confidence. It has been inspiring to see our young performers rise to the challenge and embrace the incredible opportunities this program offers.

We were also thrilled to welcome back Old Boys into our creative team, giving them a chance to return, share their talent and continue shaping the future of our performing arts community.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to play the part of Romeo. This experience was truly incredible, and upon closing night of the show, I could not be more grateful that I have this core memory to cherish for the rest of my life.

Despite the challenging Shakespeare language, as cast members we were able to tackle this obstacle through persistence and teamwork. From the life-long bonds made with Firbank students to the teachings of our directors, I have learned so much and gained skills that I can use outside of school.

I loved every aspect of this show and am eternally thankful to all of those who made it possible, especially the warm feedback received from the audience!
