Inspiring achievement

The 2025 APS Cross Country season was one to remember for Brighton Grammar.

Year 8 student Ari Friedrich competed in the Open Age group for most of the season, regularly facing runners up to four years older than him.

In the fourth round at Norton’s Park earlier this year, Ari finally raced in his own age category. Despite carrying an injury, he stormed to victory by an incredible 22 seconds and approximately 150 metres ahead of the next competitor.

From a field of 142 runners, Ari’s effort secured Brighton Grammar’s best individual result of the year, a truly inspiring achievement.
