Jam for James 2026
Honouring James Tsindos (OB 2021)As part of Food Allergy Awareness Week, the Brighton Grammar community gathered for the annual Jam for James assembly and concert, honouring the life and legacy of Old Boy James Tsindos (OB 2021).

Students, staff, family members, friends and Old Boys came together to remember James, whose kindness, spirit and love of music continue to leave a lasting impact on our community.
Assembly featured reflections from James’ close friend and fellow Old Boy, Tom Deans (OB 2021), who shared memories of James and spoke about the positive impact he had on those around him. This was followed by a keynote address from Maria Said AM, Health Strategy and Advocacy Manager at Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia, who delivered an informative presentation on food allergy awareness, anaphylaxis and the importance of creating safer, more inclusive environments for those living with severe allergies.

A sea of black and white across the Secondary School served as a tribute to James’ passion for music, particularly his love of the piano, while also raising awareness during Food Allergy Awareness Week.
The day concluded with a lunchtime concert featuring performances from Secondary School musicians and Finn Watson-Hook (OB 2022). Held in the Duigan Centre, the concert was attended by students, staff, family members and guests, and was a powerful celebration of music, connection and community.

Through the generosity of our community, more than $17,000 was raised for Allergy and Anaphylaxis Australia.
Moments like these remind us that the true strength of a school lies in its people and the connections they create. James remains a much-loved member of the Brighton Grammar community, and his memory continues to be felt through the friendships, music and spirit he shared with others.

He will always hold a special place in the heart of BGS.
