Anzac Day Service

It was very moving to have a number of Old Boys, past and present, involved with the School’s Anzac Day commemoration.

Gary Simmons (OB 1967) laid the wreath alongside School Captain, Tom Marriott, while attendees included BGS Hall of Famers Peter Harvie (OB 1957) and Roger Wilson OAM (OB 1961).

A very touching presentation was given by our Year 9 History students on the lives of four Old Boys who died during World War 1; Ernest Hartung, Allan McLeod, John Shields and Thomas Stretch. The theme ‘more than a name’ brought these young men’s stories to life to a captivated Secondary School audience.

BGS continues to remember not only these four young men, but all 118 Old Boys who died while on active service.
