Bayside Talent on Show

Bayside Local, the current art exhibition at the Bayside Gallery, showcases works by leading local artists.

Our Head of Art (Years 7–12), Michael Hawkins, and Artist in Residence, Noni Drew, have been chosen to feature their works at this prestigious event.

The show also includes Target (Best of Bayside VCE), with 2025 VCE Creative Art students Felix Pigott, Corey Dow (both OB 2025) and Stefan Bandura (Year 12) selected to participate.

A highlight of the opening event was Stefan being presented with a Mayor’s Student Encouragement Award, one of three presented, in recognition of the high calibre and technical expertise of his work, Square eyes.

Felix has also been chosen for Top Arts 2026, a very special achievement.  He was selected from more than 1,200 applicants, with his work to be displayed later this year at the Ian Potter Centre, NGV Australia.

As well, Frazer Smith (OB 2025) has been selected for Top Designs 2026 for his work, Urban Eden, Frazer’s work was also chosen from a field of over 1000 applicants and it will be on display from early April at the Melbourne Museum, a wonderful feat.

Bayside Local runs from 31 January to 1 March and Target: Bayside Art and Design students from 31 January to 25 February.
