Athletics Success

Fantastic form

Our Athletics team has experienced a positive start to the season.

Despite the challenging weather, our Friday twilight meets have been a great success with excellent participation.

We were particularly excited to have our Grade 5/6 students join us for the first Friday meet, adding to the energy of the event.

In the All-Schools Relays last Wednesday, competing against all schools within and outside the APS, Ariel Friedrich gave our U14 medley team a significant lead in the 800m leg, which we held to secure a memorable victory, thanks to stellar performances by Joaque MacCallum Carter, Ned Lowe, and Teddy Bowen (all Year 7).

Our U14 4x100m relay team of Charlie Xia, Josh McLean, Ned Lowe, and Teddy Bowen (all Year 7) earned a bronze medal. Our U16 squad of Jack McArthur, Mitchell Carney, Edward Urquhart, and Will Tan (all Year 9) also captured bronze in their 4x100m relay, despite several Year 8 athletes being on camp.

These achievements truly highlight the depth and resilience of our junior athletes.

Individually, Max Reeve (Year 9) has kicked off the season superbly, securing a dominant win in the 800m over the weekend.

Teddy Bowen is also in fantastic form, excelling in both track and field events, while our U20 sprinters continue to deliver consistently strong performances.

With a solid start to the inter-school Saturday competitions, we look forward to hosting this weekend’s meet at Box Hill Athletics track, where our athletes are eager to continue their momentum.
