BGS Winter Sleepout
A Sleepless Night for a Good CauseThe BGS Winter Sleepout is an amazing experience where you sleep in the Quad under the Oak from 6.30pm to 6.30am and experience what it is like to be homeless.
In this short time, it completely alters your view of life. This was my second year sleeping out and won’t be my last.
We watched The Public, a movie about homelessness, a real eye-opener for me and showed just how hard it is to live on the streets.
Although it rained and some of our sleeping bags got wet, it didn’t stop us from sleeping outside. Though the night was cold, it was fun, enjoyable and most importantly an educational experience.
Every year I have done this I felt like I take something new from the event. This year I learned how hard it was to get a house due to the cost of living crisis.
If you want to help support homeless people, please donate to the BGS Winter Appeal here.
