International Parents Support Group
Parent Support Group
The IPSG boasts more than 180 members (mostly mothers) who have relocated from different countries all over the world as well as local mothers who have often had an expat experience in another country. While most members are current parents at BGS there are also many parents who still remain in the group once their son has graduated as well as friends of friends from other schools. The IPSG is run by a Committee of volunteers who work hard to offer a busy and diverse program of fun activities.
The aim of the IPSG is to welcome international parents and their children to BGS as soon as possible after their arrival in Australia. Often initial contact is made before the family has even left their home country. Members of the IPSG help new families to facilitate their assimilation into the community and the School. The Committee try hard to link up people who speak a language other than English, with another family who speak that same language. The IPSG aims to have every family establish strong relationships within the BGS community that can be maintained even after they return to their homelands.
