Cricketers make their mark

Rising talent on show

Our students have been celebrating Cricket success at both the APS competition and the State and National levels.

A total of six BGS students were selected for the Dowling Shield in February, Victoria’s premier U16 Cricket competition and a key pathway to the Victorian U17 team.

Congratulations to Year 11 students James D (leading run scorer), Nick C (second overall in runs tally), and Luke L (member of the winning Richmond team), and Year 10 students Kaevish B, Archer B and Harry P who all competed.

Kaevish has also been named Captain of the Victorian U15 State Cricket Team and will lead the team at the upcoming Australian National Cricket Championship (School Sports Australia Carnival) to be held in Bunbury, Western Australia.

Kaevish was presented with his baggy blue cap and the Team Captain badge at the official cap ceremony at the Junction Oval on 15 February.

As well, at the recent prestigious JG Craig U15 Tournament, Year 10 student  Aarav B was awarded Player of the Tournament and Connor P (Year 9) finished 7th highest run scorer.

BGS players to feature in the tournament included Year 9 students Myles A, Connor P, Oscar J, Ned B, Tom G, Barton B, Tyler B, Harry P, Angus N and Hugo F-W (Year 10).

Well done to all boys.
