The support of our parents and families will be crucial in assisting our students to navigate the online platforms, which will enable ongoing curriculum delivery.

Secondary School resources

Please find below the Secondary School checklist in English and Chinese for your reference. This checklist will ensure your home is ready for the online learning we will deliver from next week.

A guide is also available on BGS Distance Learning and how you can effectively learn from home.

A note on the benefits of routine to help you organise yourself

Consent2Go request

It is also essential that you respond to the request from Consent2Go in order to enable ongoing remote curriculum delivery. Please contact us if you have not received this.

Year 7-12 Students

  • Boys will check in to the Hub each morning at the start of the school day
  • A Daily Bulletin will be posted at 8.00am every morning
  • Your son will then complete his normal timetable each day
  • Classes may include: video instruction, textbook work, other materials, quizzes, links
  • Staff will be at their computers to facilitate lessons and communication during normal class-time. Depending on technology, staff will be able to speak online via video or answer questions via email.

Online tools and expectations

Secondary School boys are already familiar with using these tools to enhance their learning. They will also be told what to expect during Tutor Group, and experience some practice lessons.

VCE Students

  • We understand that VCE is a stressful time and an event like this adds to that stress. VCE students remain our top priority during this time
  • Teachers are using the remainder of this week to prepare the boys for remote learning and furnish them with additional resources
  • In accordance with VCAA guidelines, no student will be disadvantaged and we will continue to liaise with VCAA to ensure this
  • At this stage, no SACs will be scheduled until School resumes to normal.
