Future ready skillsiDesign 2026 was a resounding success, solidifying its place as a cornerstone of our School’s commitment to promoting innovation and future-ready skills.
It has been truly inspiring to see our Year 8 students embrace this platform, exploring their passions, conceptualising groundbreaking ideas, and developing vital skills for the modern world.
This year’s program showcased an incredible breadth of talent and imaginative problem-solving. Louis B earned the People’s Choice Runner-up Award while Leo T secured the People’s Choice Award.
Nick F won the Pastoral Award for a project demonstrating significant community or personal impact, and Woody W received the BGS Award for an exemplary project embodying BGS values.
Lenny L took home the Creativity Award for Horror Game Creation – Dawn, an immersive digital experience. The Entrepreneurship Award went to Bentley F for Entry Glow, making home entry safer and more convenient.
Tom M was awarded the Innovation Award for Ez Readz, a revolutionary learning accessibility tool. For his lost property solution Found, Keaton H received the Sustainability Award. Taj S’s ingenious Solar Sweep, an automatic solar panel cleaner, earned him the Wild Card Award. Evan A was presented with the ASICS Runner-up Award for Flatpack Furniture.
Overall iDesign Winner was Oliver W, for his project Back Pocket. Oliver’s exceptional work encapsulated all core iDesign categories of sustainability, innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship by ingeniously upcycling thousands of Sherrin footballs into a new, impactful product.
We’re incredibly proud of the innovative spirit our students demonstrate, constantly pushing boundaries and bringing their imaginative visions to life.
