Old Boy wins Tennis Golden Slam

World number one Dylan Alcott OAM (OB 2008) has become the first man in tennis history to win the Golden Slam with his US Open title win on 13 September in New York.

He created tennis history by winning all four wheelchair tennis majors – the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and now the US Open – and a Paralympic gold medal (his second) in the one year.

It was Dylan’s second US Open singles title and 15th Grand Slam singles title.

Dylan’s achievements aren’t restricted to the sporting field – through his work as a motivational speaker, and the work of the Dylan Alcott Foundation, he is changing the way people with disabilities are perceived in the wider community.

Dylan’s connection with Brighton Grammar continues through the Dylan Alcott Foundation Comport Scholarship which provides a BGS education to a boy with a physical disability.
