Being Active at Home

During distance learning, the Strength and Conditioning department, with the Physical Education team, played an important role in keeping the boys physically active. The focus was on offering a range of activities that students could do at home to maintain a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle, rather than sports performance.

We produced over 50 online work out videos, which included strength, core, yoga, recovery, circuit and running sessions, as well as fun fitness challenges for the students to do at home. As well, live Zoom sessions  and regular Zoom catch ups were offered to help students plan their activity during isolation. Head of Strength and Conditioning Ian Miller reports

It was pleasing to see how students approached and prioritised physical activity and discovered how important physical activity is to their health and wellbeing. I encourage parents to continue to support their sons to remain physically active as lockdown restrictions ease.
