Old Brighton Grammarians Football Club (Soccer)
In February 2014 the Old Brighton Grammarians Soccer Club was relaunched as the East Brighton United FC. The reason for the change was to open up the club to a wider playing audience and broader soccer community in Bayside. Fielding a competitive senior team in State League 4, in 2018 the club merged with Hampton Junior Soccer Club to create Hampton East Brighton Football Club.
The club currently plays in State League One South East, just one tier below the VPL, and is the equal highest ranked Football Club in the Bayside area.
You do not have to be an Old Boy of the School to play in the team. There is still, however, a very strong affiliation with the School, and the team continues to keep the same colours.
The Head Coach Brandon Galgano has been at the helm of the senior team since 2017, with the club winning three state titles and achieving four promotions in that time, now playing in the highest division of the state leagues.
With multiple recently graduated students playing in the seniors and reserves, including club captain Mackie Simmons (OB 2009), Oliver Holland (OB 2022) and Cade Segar (OB 2024), there is a strong link with the school across all ages at the club.
