Farewell & Good Luck to
the Class of 2023

Joining BGS in Year 9, Finn admirably balanced his studies with his sporting interests.

Finn participated in Rowing (Year 9), Sailing (Year 10), Basketball (Years 10 to 12) and Diving (Years 11-12).

In Year 11, Finn received Full Colours in Snow Sports, won the Snowboard Trophy and qualified as a National Representative (Div 1). That year, he was also awarded a Merit Certificate in Product Design & Technology.

In Year 12, Finn won the Coach’s Award for Basketball and continued to excel in Snow Sports, earning Full Colours in Snowboard/SnowboardX and again qualified as a National Representative Div 1).

As a testament to his leadership abilities, Finn served as the Co-Captain of Snow Sports in his final year. He represented Hancock House in Swimming and Choral competitions.

Finn has pursued an apprenticeship in carpentry.

Commencing in Year 2, Charlie thoroughly explored all Brighton Grammar had to offer in the academic, sporting and cocurricular fields.

His major sporting interests included Rugby and Tennis and he won Best Team Player and Most Valuable Player awards in these sports during his schooling, culminating in Full Colours – Rugby in Year 10.

He was a member of the Rugby First XV (Years 10-12) and was awarded The Connor Dawes ‘Spirit of Rugby’ Award in Year 11.

In his final year, he was named Best Team Player for the Rugby First XV and received Full Colours – Rugby.

Charlie’s leadership qualities were recognised as a Leader in the Year 11 Outdoor Education Leadership Program and as Co-Captain of the Rugby First XV (Year 12).

Academically, he received the Outdoor Education Prize (Year 8) and a Distinction Certificate for Mathematics (Year 10). He represented Crowther House in Athletics, Choral, and Swimming.

Charlie has undertaken an electrical apprenticeship.

Walking through the BGS gates in Year 9, Luca embraced all opportunities.

Luca was a strong supporter of Armstrong House and a positive role model for younger students for which he received Full House Colours in Year 12. He represented Armstrong in Swimming, Choral and Athletics.

An elite sportsman, Luca shone in the sporting arena. He played First V Futsal (Years 9-12) and) First XI Soccer (Years 10-12), receiving Half Colours for Futsal and Soccer (Year 10) and Half Colours for Athletics and Soccer (Year 11).

He won the Golden Boot Soccer First XI award in both Year 11 and Year 12 and was named Most Valuable Player Soccer for the First XI in his final year, receiving Full Colours – Soccer.

Luca has pursued an elite sport pathway to focus on soccer before studying a Bachelor of Building and Construction/Project Management.

Ben joined BGS in Year 7 and immediately involved himself in his studies and extracurricular pursuits. He achieved a Highly Commended award for his Year 8 iDesign project and a Merit Certificate for Drama that same year.

Ben was awarded The Unit 1/2 VET Prize in Year 11 and The Unit 3/4 VET Prize in Year 12. He was a Leader in the Year 11 Outdoor Education Leadership Program and participated in the St Andrew’s Library Committee (Years 10-11) and the Eat Up community service program (Year 10).

He was a keen supporter of Armstrong House, competing in Athletics, Strava, Choral and Swimming House competitions. On the sporting field, Ben competed in Tennis (Years 7-12) and Basketball (Years 8-12), receiving a Coach’s Award for Basketball in Year 11.

Ben transferred his School-based apprenticeship to a full-time mechanical apprenticeship with Brighton Toyota.

Commencing in the ELC, Ryan enthusiastically took on his studies and all aspects of school life for which he received many acknowledgements and awards in the Junior School.

He was equally involved in the Secondary School, as a member of Year 7 and Year 8 Meliora Voices and in the cast of the Middle Years Production, Shrek JR.

Ryan also achieved a Highly Commended award for his Year 8 iDesign project. He competed in Tennis (Years 7-12), Basketball (Years 7-8) and Rugby (Year 8).

He represented Armstrong House in Choral, Athletics and Streetball, for which he received Full House Colours in Year 12.

Ryan has pursued an elite sports pathway to focus on Baseball.
