Each season is exciting, filled with opportunities to connect with fellow Meliora Club families. Whether it’s weekly regattas, the annual Sunrise at the Sheds boat naming, the spirited Oars Up cocktail event, or the grand season finale in March at Heads of the River in Nagambie – there’s something for everyone to be a part of!

Boat Race Umpires – BRU (the serious part!)
BGS is obligated to provide a BRU for each regatta otherwise we incur a financial penalty from Rowing Victoria. The Meliora Club Coordinates Umpires on behalf of BGS.

FACT: You don’t need to be a rower or know anything about rowing to be an Umpire! You only need a desire to be in on the action and a current Working with Children Certificate.

The Meliora Club Membership
As part of this exclusive group, you’ll be supporting your son’s growth, both on and off the water, while building strong connections with other like-minded families. Your membership helps foster a culture of passion, respect, accountability, and integrity within the BGS rowing community. The Meliora Committee
The Meliora Club Committee is run by a group of committed rowing parents, and we welcome and encourage new ideas and suggestions on what we can do to help achieve our purpose. Please reach out to any of them or your Club Rep if you would like to chat.

Our AGM is typically held in April/May each year to re-elect Committee Members.  Please reach out if you are interested in joining.
