USA Performing Arts Tour
Memorable and inspiring experienceIn December, 20 Brighton Grammar boys and four staff embarked on an unforgettable performing arts tour to New York and Los Angeles.
This enriching experience showcased the magic of live performance, offered invaluable workshops with industry professionals, and immersed the boys in the cultural vibrancy of two of the world’s most iconic cities.
The journey began in the Big Apple, where the group experienced the best of Broadway, attending incredible productions such as The Lion King, MJ the Musical, The Play That Goes Wrong, and Hamilton.
Students participated in workshops led by industry professionals including an original cast member from Hamilton, gaining insights into the craft and honing their performance skills.
A particular highlight was the opportunity to share a uniquely Australian performance with local schools, fostering cultural exchange and connection through the performing arts.
When not on stage or in workshops, the boys embraced the rich history and culture of New York. They explored some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, from the Statue of Liberty to the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, and the Met.
Los Angeles highlights included a thrilling day at Universal Studios, where Harry Potter World cast its spell, and an unforgettable adventure at Disneyland.
The tour was more than just a fun-filled journey; it was a deeply enriching experience that left a lasting impact on the boys.
The combination of watching world-class theatre, participating in hands-on workshops, and performing for new audiences encouraged the boys to develop their skills, build confidence, and broaden their horizons as performers and individuals.
The boys returned home with a wealth of memories, new skills, and a fresh sense of inspiration to carry into their future performances.
