Water Polo Report

Reilience and determination

The Firsts Water Polo team has experienced a season of ups and downs, narrowly losing several matches by just two goals or less but demonstrating resilience and determination every week.

After rallying support at assembly, thanks to Caiden Perla-Dowdell and Lachlan Lewis, the team was eager to see a strong turnout at their Friday night match against Caulfield Grammar.

Captain Nicky Robertson, a goal-scoring sensation with 28 goals in just six games, was set for a big performance, alongside key scorers Hamish Featherston and Caiden.

Despite a fast start from Scotch, who quickly took a 3-0 lead, BGS fought back valiantly, levelling the score in the first minute of the final quarter.

With encouragement from the Chantology crowd who were fast learning the rules, anything seemed possible. Unfortunately, the loss of Lachie due to three fouls, and some late goals by Scotch, resulted in another close defeat, despite Nicky adding five more goals to his impressive tally.

Special thanks to Katie White, Zylkade Zekirija, and Simon Angus for their support. We look forward to finishing the season on a high note this Friday against Caulfield Grammar. All support is greatly appreciated!
