Diving into First Place

Creative Coding Success

Congratulations to Aden (Year 4), who took out first place in the 2026 International Kids Coding Competition, Year 9-10 age group, with this year’s theme, Mission to the Depths of the Ocean.

The competition challenged students to create an original Scratch project inspired by the mysterious world beneath the ocean. Entries could take the form of a game, story, animation or a combination of these, encouraging students to combine their coding skills with creativity and imagination.

Aden created an underwater adventure following Jason, who is sent on a mission to find the mysterious Pearl of the Deep. Along the way, Jason encounters puzzles and minigames before making an unexpected discovery: the pearl is not his to take but belongs to something far greater than a human.

The competition attracted over 1,000 participants from more than 40 countries.

Well done Aden!
