Tips to make the most of the term break
Junior School studentsBalance Rest and Activity: Encourage your child to have plenty of rest, but also include physical activities like bike riding, swimming, or walks to keep their body healthy and their energy positive.
Engage in Meaningful Conversations: Use holiday time to talk about your child’s interests, feelings, and experiences. This helps strengthen relationships and supports their emotional development.
Support Their Interests: Notice what your child enjoys and encourage those interests, whether it’s drawing, building, reading, or exploring outdoors. This builds motivation and self-confidence.
Maintain Some Routine: While holidays are for flexibility, keeping regular meal and sleep times helps your child feel secure and supports healthy habits.
Limit Screen Time: Allow some screen time for fun and learning, but balance it with offline activities like board games, crafts, or outdoor play.
Be Present and Enjoy Together: The best support is your time and attention. Sharing experiences and simply having fun together creates lasting memories and strengthens your child’s well-being.
