BGS Rugby Stars
State selectionThe BGS Rugby program continues to go from strength to strength, with several of our talented Secondary School students achieving success in Victorian State Rugby teams this year. Their dedication, skill, and passion for the sport are a testament to the thriving Rugby culture at BGS.
Four of our students – Finley Ward (Year 12), Hamish Ward (Year 10), Noah Jury (Year 11), and Faf Krueger (Year 11 – have earned places in the RugbyVic Academy Program, recognising their talent and commitment to the game.
Finley and Noah represented Victoria as part of the Vic U18s Schoolboys team at the Australian Schools Nationals held in Queensland this July, with Finley serving as Vice-Captain.
Meanwhile, Faf showcased his skills in the Australian Junior Rugby Championships, competing with the Victorian State U17s team, also in Queensland
Hamish (Year 10) has been named Vice-Captain of the RugbyVic Super Rugby U16 team, with matches against the Western Force in Perth, the Queensland Reds in Brisbane, the NSW Waratahs and ACT Brumbies in Melbourne.
Alex Woolf (Year 9) is also making an impact as part of the Victorian State U15 squad. He is currently training for the U15s NextGen Cup, set to take place in New South Wales later this year.
These achievements reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, as well as the support and guidance of the BGS Rugby program.
