Creative Arts Showcase

Full sensory experience

The Secondary School Creative Arts Showcase captivated the community, celebrating the exceptional talent, hard work, and imagination of our Secondary School students.

The highly anticipated Opening Event and Exhibition on 7 November kicked off the week-long celebration. The evening began at 5.30pm with a warm welcome from Headmaster Ross Featherston, setting the stage for a sophisticated and inspiring night dedicated to the Creative Arts.

The exhibition featured an outstanding collection of works across a diverse range of disciplines, highlighting the depth of creativity within the Secondary School. Attendees were treated to impressive displays from students in Art, Media, Product Design and Visual Communication Design.

Guests enjoyed delicious nibbles expertly prepared by our Food Technology students, while the atmosphere was further enhanced by a captivating live musical performance from talented BGS musician, James Melgaard. The opening night was a full sensory experience!

The event also saw impressive contributions from our student leaders. Creative Art Captains James Mitropoulous, Corey Dow, and Felix Piggot were outstanding, advocating passionately for the exhibiting students and offering insightful reflections on the value of their respective Creative Arts journeys.

Adding to the excitement, BGS Artist-in-resident Noni Drew kindly donated an original artwork to the event. This piece was featured in a silent auction, with all proceeds going towards raising money for a proposed Sculpture Garden project at the School.

We thank Noni for her generosity and continued support of the BGS Arts community. Alongside Friends of Art Committee President, Alison Currie, Noni selected and presented excellence awards across Media, Product Design, Visual Communication Design (VCD), and Art.

Congratulations to all the students, captains, and staff involved in this exhibition- your work and dedication truly made this a memorable event!
