APS Grand Finals Information

Important information for Saturday 15 August

Supporting Our Visiting Teams

We warmly welcome players, families, staff and supporters from our visiting schools to Grand Final Day at Brighton Grammar. 

Our aim is to provide a safe, inclusive and enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators. We encourage all supporters to celebrate the achievements of the students competing and contribute positively to the atmosphere throughout the day.

Visiting Supporter Information

– Spectators are welcome to support their team from the designated viewing areas around the venue.
– Food and beverage outlets, amenities and First Aid services are available to all attendees.
– Event maps and parking information are available below to assist with your visit.
– Please follow any directions provided by event staff, volunteers and officials.

– Changerooms 7 & 8 (Football)

These changerooms are located in the Annandale Pavilion.

Note: This is an alcohol-free event. Smoking and vaping are prohibited anywhere on school grounds.

Entry to Brighton Grammar

Enter via New Street or Outer Crescent.

partial road closure will be in place on Outer Crescent between St Andrews Street and Allee Street. Footpaths will still be accessible.

No pets are permitted within the school grounds.

Getting Here

Road Closure

Due to the large crowd expected, a partial road closure will be in place on Outer Crescent between St Andrews Street and Allee Street. We encourage visitors to consider alternative transport options where possible.

Parking

Limited parking is available in surrounding streets. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to secure a parking space, observe all local parking restrictions, and be respectful of local residents.  

Available parking:
– On-street parking
– St Andrew’s Church car park (New Street) *from 1.30pm-5.30pm only
– Accessible parking (Outer Crescent/Allee Street)

Public Transport

Public transport is encouraged.
Train: Middle Brighton Station (approximately 740m walk)
Bus: Route 603 – Brighton Grammar/New Street stop 

Bus Zone 
There will be a designated bus zone on New Street for visiting schools to drop off and pick up students. Once students have safely disembarked, buses are asked to move on promptly to allow the next school access to the zone. See event map for location.

Food and Beverage

Food and drinks will be available throughout the day:
– BBQ
– Coffee and hot drinks
– Cold drinks and light snacks at both ends of the ground

Please note:
– Cashless payment is preferred
– No alcohol will be available for purchase or to be brought onto school grounds
– Glass containers are prohibited

Spectator Information

Designated Student Areas
Selected spectator areas have been reserved for current students to allow them to support their peers and contribute to the grand final day atmosphere.

These areas will be clearly identified on the venue map and through event signage. Parents, carers and other spectators are asked to utilise the general viewing areas around the venue.

You’re welcome to bring:
– Portable chairs
– Picnic rugs

Please:
– Remain outside the playing arena
– Keep emergency access areas clear
– Respect officials, team areas and event staff

Photography and Video Recording

Professional photography and videography will be in operation. Guests may take personal photos for private use.

Photography and video recording must not:
– Interfere with participants or officials
– Breach child safety requirements
– Be used for commercial purposes without permission

Live Scores and Results

If you can’t attend, the Grand Finals played at home will be streamed live by College Sports. Streams will begin approximately 10 minutes before each match. Users will need to create a personal College Sports login.

First Aid and Medical Assistance

First Aid officers will be located on-site (see event map)

In an emergency, notify the nearest event staff member immediately. For life-threatening emergencies, call 000. BGS Event staff are identifiable through BGS lanyards and high-vis vests. 

Weather Information

The event will proceed unless conditions are deemed unsafe by APS Sport. 

Any significant changes or cancellations will be communicated via:
– BGS website
– BGS social media channels
– APS Sport

Child Safety

Brighton Grammar is committed to providing a safe environment for all children and young people.

Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising children attending the event.

Conditions of Entry

Attendance is subject to the APS Sport Code of Conduct and Parent and School Community Code of Conduct.

By entering the school grounds, visitors agree to:
– Follow directions from BGS staff and officials
– Treat players, coaches, officials and fellow spectators with respect
– Comply with all safety and venue requirements
– Support school sport in a positive and respectful manner

Brighton Grammar School and Mon Jon Security reserve the right to refuse entry or direct any person to leave the venue if their behaviour is deemed unsafe, disruptive, offensive or inconsistent with the expectations of the event.
