How to apply
To apply, complete the application form and return via mail or in person to the main reception. Address details are on the application form. All documentation for the application must be submitted at the same time.

Are you eligible to apply?
General Excellence scholarships are available for boys entering Years 7–10 in 2025.
This scholarship is not open to boys who are currently attending the School.
Scholarships may only be awarded to students who are permanent residents or citizens of Australia.
Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview.
Criteria
Selection will be based on all-round talent and will take into account some or all of the following:
- A combination of high academic, sporting, performing arts and community service achievements
Value
All scholarships are at the discretion of the Headmaster; general excellence scholarships cover a percentage of the tuition fees.
General excellence scholarships do not cover:
- The cost of books, stationery or uniforms
- Consolidated charge
- Discretionary charges such as overseas trips.
Audience
Boys entering Years 7–10 in 2025.
Duration
General Excellence scholarship holders are expected to complete their education at BGS.
Special conditions
General Excellence scholarship holders are expected to:
- Maintain a high standard of achievement in the areas of endeavour for which you were awarded the scholarship
- Contribute positively and enthusiastically to School life. Progress and contribution to school life are reviewed annually.
A scholarship may be withdrawn if the Headmaster is not satisfied with the diligence or conduct of the holder. Failure to pay fees may also lead to withdrawal. The School reserves the right not to award any or all of the scholarships available. No boy may hold more than one scholarship.

We appreciate the effort taken by many applicants to provide additional information beyond that requested in the application form.
Any additional documentation beyond the application form should be printed on A4 paper and included at the time of submission.
